Naeem Tabassum Interview

How long have you been crunching numbers for B&W? Since Nov 2021. I have been in accountancy-based roles within the specialist finance sector for quite a few years, but this was another exciting new challenge to take on a full growth business role. What got you into accountancy? Like many other individuals, it was by luck, but it provided a multitude of options. Accountancy is not industry specific, as a qualified accountant I can work pretty much in any industry or business sector. Someone told me you have written a book, is this true and what is it about? Yes, this is true. I have written a book about the importance of corporate governance and organisational performance. What do you like to do in your spare time? To be honest there is no such thing in my life which I can call spare time. For me, spare time is when you are not working – I find it difficult to switch my brain off and if I

Key Takeaway

manage to shut my brain off, then I sleep. What is an interesting fact about yourself that others may not know? Two things for you. Firstly, and not sure I should admit this, but when I was at school my maths was very poor. The best thing about an accountancy qualification is you don’t need to be a maths genius.
